Why Albion Park Homeowners Choose Us

Albion Park sits at the base of the Illawarra escarpment, close to Macquarie Pass National Park, and covers a mix of established suburban blocks and semi-rural, larger-acreage properties out towards Tongarra Road and Marshall Mount. Many homes in the area are older weatherboard or brick veneer builds from the 1970s–90s, and a common renovation request we see is extending a smaller original floor plan to suit a growing family, or opening up a closed-off kitchen to make the most of escarpment views. Because a good number of Albion Park properties sit on larger blocks with more room to move, we also do a fair amount of work on second-storey additions and granny-flat-style extensions that wouldn’t be possible on a tighter inner-Wollongong block.

Local Considerations We Plan For

Bushfire-prone land considerations Parts of Albion Park, particularly properties closer to the escarpment and Macquarie Pass, fall within mapped bushfire-prone land. Any extension or major renovation in these areas may need to meet AS 3959 bushfire construction requirements — we factor this into material selection and council documentation from the start. Shellharbour Council approvals Albion Park renovations are assessed under Shellharbour City Council. We handle the DA or CDC pathway assessment, liaise with council where needed, and make sure your renovation plans account for the current LEP and DCP requirements for the area. Larger blocks, more options Where Albion Park properties have larger setbacks and yard space, we can often design extensions that wouldn’t fit on a standard inner-suburb block — including single-storey rear extensions that keep the whole family on one level.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We recently had the pleasure of working with Modern View Construction on a major renovation project, and we couldn't be happier with the results. They knocked down half of our house, replaced the old laundry and bathroom, and then extended our home by adding two beautiful new bedrooms.

From start to finish, the entire process was seamless. Jimmy, the lead builder, is an absolute legend. He was not only highly knowledgeable and skilled but also incredibly easy to talk to. He kept us informed every step of the way, ensuring we always knew what was happening and what to expect next.

Jimmy's professionalism is unmatched. He had all the necessary insurances, which gave us peace of mind throughout the project. His dedication to quality and attention to detail were evident in every aspect of the build. The craftsmanship is top-notch, and the new spaces have exceeded our expectations in every way.
