Home Renovations in Berry

Berry’s heritage streetscape and character homes call for a renovation approach that respects the village’s history. Modern View Constructions delivers heritage-sensitive renovations across Berry and the surrounding district.

Why Berry Homeowners Choose Us

Berry is one of the most recognisable heritage villages in the region, known for its well-preserved Federation and Victorian-era homes and a streetscape that’s genuinely protected and valued by the community. Renovating in Berry is rarely a blank-slate job — it’s almost always about working carefully within an existing character home, updating kitchens, bathrooms, and living spaces while keeping verandahs, timber detailing, and street presentation intact. Berry’s property market also commands a premium, and buyers here typically expect a renovation finish to match — this isn’t a suburb where a budget fit-out cuts it. Beyond the village centre, we also renovate a good number of larger rural-residential and acreage properties on Berry’s outskirts, where the brief often shifts toward extensions and outdoor living additions rather than heritage preservation.

Local Considerations We Plan For

Heritage conservation area — Much of central Berry sits within a heritage conservation area under Shoalhaven City Council’s LEP. Renovations affecting street-facing elevations or heritage-listed properties typically need heritage impact assessment — we scope this before quoting. Shoalhaven Council approvals — Berry falls under Shoalhaven City Council, a different authority to the Illawarra councils covering our other service areas. We manage the DA pathway and heritage referral process specific to Shoalhaven’s requirements. Premium finish expectations — Berry’s market supports a higher standard of renovation finish, and we plan material and fixture selection to match what local buyers and owners expect.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We recently had the pleasure of working with Modern View Construction on a major renovation project, and we couldn't be happier with the results. They knocked down half of our house, replaced the old laundry and bathroom, and then extended our home by adding two beautiful new bedrooms.

From start to finish, the entire process was seamless. Jimmy, the lead builder, is an absolute legend. He was not only highly knowledgeable and skilled but also incredibly easy to talk to. He kept us informed every step of the way, ensuring we always knew what was happening and what to expect next.

Jimmy's professionalism is unmatched. He had all the necessary insurances, which gave us peace of mind throughout the project. His dedication to quality and attention to detail were evident in every aspect of the build. The craftsmanship is top-notch, and the new spaces have exceeded our expectations in every way.

We highly recommend Modern View Construction to anyone considering a renovation or new build. They are a fantastic team, and we are thrilled with the outcome of our project.
