Home Renovations in Gerringong

Modern View Constructions renovates coastal homes across Gerringong, from weatherboard cottage updates to full renovations for sea-change and holiday-home buyers.

Why Gerringong Homeowners Choose Us

Gerringong has a strong coastal village character — think Werri Beach, the walking track down to Kiama, and a mix of older weatherboard cottages alongside beachside homes bought by sea-changers and holiday-home owners. Renovation work here often falls into one of two camps: sensitively updating a character cottage without losing what makes it charming, or renovating a more recent beachside property to a standard that suits either full-time coastal living or premium holiday letting. Being a smaller village surrounded by dairy-farming countryside, Gerringong also has a number of larger rural-residential properties on its outskirts, where renovation and extension work has more room to move than on a standard village block.

Local Considerations We Plan For

Kiama Council heritage and village character — Gerringong falls under Kiama Municipal Council, and parts of the village carry character and heritage considerations similar to Kiama itself. We check this early so a cottage renovation doesn’t run into an avoidable planning issue. Coastal exposure — Being right on the coast, Gerringong properties need material and fixing choices that handle salt air and wind exposure, particularly for anything close to Werri Beach. Holiday-home standard — For owners renovating with short-stay letting in mind, we focus on durable, low-maintenance finishes that still present well for guests.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We recently had the pleasure of working with Modern View Construction on a major renovation project, and we couldn't be happier with the results. They knocked down half of our house, replaced the old laundry and bathroom, and then extended our home by adding two beautiful new bedrooms.

From start to finish, the entire process was seamless. Jimmy, the lead builder, is an absolute legend. He was not only highly knowledgeable and skilled but also incredibly easy to talk to. He kept us informed every step of the way, ensuring we always knew what was happening and what to expect next.

Jimmy's professionalism is unmatched. He had all the necessary insurances, which gave us peace of mind throughout the project.
